Question:
What is your opinion regarding one who forgets to count the Omer for an entire day? My wife just realized that she did not count the Omer yesterday. Should she continue counting without the bracha, or is there a different opinion?
Answer:
If one forgets to count the Omer at night, one may count, with the B'rakha, all the following day (Rambam, T’midhim w’Musaphim 7:19; Ra’ah; et al).
If one forgets to count and remembers only the following evening, one continues to count, but without a B'rakha.
Women may count the Omer with a B'rakha, just as men do.
