Purim as a Paradigm - The Purim that almost wasn't. Mordichai and Esther sent out letters to the Jewsih people to proclaim the holiday of Purim, there was quite a debate between the Rabbis of the Talumud as to if a new holiday could be added to our observance. The number of readings of the Megillah is also discussed as well as the minhag of drinking on Purim. Is there a mitzvah to get drunk?
