Till a man can judge whether they be truths or not, his understanding is but little improved, and thus men of much reading, though greatly learned, but may be little knowing. John Locke (1632 - 1704)

Women Counting Omer — Forgetting to Count Question: What is your opinion regarding one who forgets to count the Omer for an entire day? My wife just realized that she did not count the Omer yesterday. Should she continue counting without the bracha, or is there a different opinion? Answer: 1. If one forgets to count the Omer at night, one may count, with the B'rakha, all the following day (Rambam, T’midhim w’Musaphim 7:19; Ra’ah; et al). 2. If one forgets to count and remembers only the following evening, one continues to count, but without a B'rakha. 3. Women may count the Omer with a B'rakha, just as men do. Rabbi David Bar-Hayim |

Can Women Count the Omer?
This issue brought here (as with many other time bound positive Miswoth) is the reciting of the blessing for people not obligated in the Miswah (women in this case) and if it enters the realm of blessing in vain since its saying that you commanded US (the us is for men and not women, or the us includes all- men and women). Then also besides women even perhaps the same can be said for minors (under Bar Miswah).
